Poster Guidelines
You want your event posters to be visually pleasing, inviting, and effective in getting the message across! Here are some simple tips to keep in mind when designing your posters.
🎨 Design & Branding
✅ Use bright, high-quality images that reflect the spirit of ISKCON—deities, kirtan, prasadam, and joyful gatherings.
❌ Avoid blurry, pixelated, or unrelated images that don’t capture the essence of the event.
✅ Keep the design clean and balanced so it feels welcoming and easy to read.
❌ Too many colors or cluttered elements can make it overwhelming—less is more!
✅ Make sure the temple name, ISKCON logo, Srila Prabhupada’s name and picture are on the poster.
❌ Don’t shrink or forget the branding—let people know who’s hosting the event!
✅ Use good contrast so text is easy to read.
❌ Avoid background colors that clash with the text—you want people to get the message at a glance!
✅ Respect copyright laws—only use images and artwork with permission.
❌ Avoid using random internet images—check sources to ensure they are ISKCON-approved.
📝 Content & Messaging
✅ Clearly share the key details—event name, date, time, and venue.
❌ Don’t leave people guessing! Make it easy for them to attend.
✅ Keep the wording short, sweet, and to the point.
❌ Too much text can feel overwhelming. Focus on the highlights!
✅ Give a special mention to key guests like senior devotees, kirtan leaders, or special speakers.
❌ No need to list too many names—just the ones that add value.
✅ Let people know if the event is free, donation-based, or requires registration.
❌ Don’t leave them wondering if they need to sign up or bring something.
✅ Include clear contact details—phone, email, website, or social media.
❌ If people have questions, they should know how to reach you!
📌 Technical Considerations
✅ Use high-resolution files so everything looks crisp and clear (1080x1080px for social media, PDF for print).
❌ Blurry or stretched images can make the poster look unprofessional.
✅ Keep file sizes optimized so they’re easy to share (especially on WhatsApp).
❌ Huge files can be hard to send—a smaller, high-quality version works best!
✅ Use the right formats: JPG/PNG for digital, PDF for print.
❌ Avoid uncommon formats that people might struggle to open.
