ISKCON 60
Celebrating six decades of Krishna consciousness — and honouring the vision of His Divine Grace A. C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupāda.
Where It All Began
On 13 July 1966, incorporation documents were filed in the City of New York establishing the International Society for Krishna Consciousness. At the time, the “International Society” that Śrīla Prabhupāda had named consisted of a single small storefront temple on New York’s Lower East Side — the former Matchless Gifts shop at 26 Second Avenue.
Six decades later, that storefront has become a worldwide society of temples, farm communities, schools, and prasādam distribution serving millions each year.

ISKCON incorporated in New York City on 13 July, beginning at 26 Second Avenue.

Fiftieth anniversary of Śrīla Prabhupāda’s Tirobhāva — the second half of the 60-50 commemoration.
The 60-50 Commemoration
The global observance is coordinated by the 60-50 Commemoration Global Committee, marking ISKCON’s 60th anniversary in 2026 alongside the 50th anniversary of Śrīla Prabhupāda’s Tirobhāva in 2027. Their hub offers downloadable graphics, banners, templates, and a directory of regional coordinators for centres planning their own programs.
